Roseland started with a simple insight: it's possible to make quality American furniture affordable when you focus on just a few designs and put them into continuous production. Each build is crafted in Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Texas, and Vermont by family-owned businesses. They are made with solid American Cherry, Black Walnut, Reclaimed Chestnut, or White Oak; with no stains or lacquers. These pieces showcase the natural grain and character of iconic native trees.

Heirloom Repair Warranty

We’d like our furniture to be passed on and will repair it, profit-free, as long as we're in business. If you damage your furniture, you'll only be responsible for the shipping and our direct costs.

Our materials speak for themselves. Each board is hand-selected for strength and color, finished with care and left unaltered. No stains, no shortcuts—just the beauty that was already there.
  • BOARD SELECTION

Every board is chosen by hand; looking for consistency in tone, tight growth rings, and a clean grain pattern. Sapwood and softer grain are avoided to ensure strength and lasting stability. The result is durable, heirloom-grade lumber that will last for generations.

  • FINISHING, NATURALLY

Surfaces are finished by hand using natural linseed oil — never polyurethane or plastic coatings. The finish protects the wood while allowing it to breathe, developing a soft sheen that grows richer with age. You can feel the difference: a warmth and texture only possible from a natural finish.

How Wood Changes with Time

Because we finish with just pure, raw linseed oil, wood is able to breathe and reach its natural tone. Shown here, Cherry deepens to a warm red-brown over 12 months, while Walnut gently lightens and softens with time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your wood sourced?

Our manufacturing partners source their wood from local lumber mills. As a design specification, we require that the wood is grown in the USA.

Why no stain options?

As a company, we believe in wood's natural grain and ever-changing tonality. While stains can deliver a more consistent tonality, they often come with synthetic additives, VOCs, and chemicals we prefer not to use. Secondly, stains inhibit the natural ease of repairing dings and dents, because they are hard to replicate or match decades from their application.

Is there a difference between "Walnut" and "Black Walnut"?

The short answer is often no. Black Walnut is America's walnut tree - if your furniture is made in the USA from "Walnut" then it is likely American Black Walnut. American Black Walnut has a richer, slightly darker tone than European walnut and was a prized export for furniture makers in Europe.

How do you ship your products?

For most products, we've included free UPS ground shipping to the lower 48. However certain products, due to size, ship with our white glove contractor: Pilot Logistics.

How does repair actually work?

We maintain a parts library for all of our products. If we run out of a part, we retain the file CAD and are able to recreate it.
