About

  • Roseland is a love letter to the American home and to the land and forests that make it possible.

Founded by Clare de Boer and Luke Sherwin, a husband-and-wife team based in the Hudson Valley and New York City, Roseland opened in 2023 in partnership with three seasoned furniture makers and a long-time design collaborator

Roseland was created to make American-made classics more accessible. Instead of the broad, made-to-order approach that has become the norm, we have embraced a focused strategy: fewer pieces, continuous production, and significant savings passed on to our customers.

We offer home furnishings that are made here using American raw materials and that are finished as organically as possible. Our manufacturing partners are family-owned businesses in Stamford, NY, Bosque County, TX, and Enfield, ME.

We want everything we sell to endure for decades and longer. Unless otherwise stated, all of our pieces are supported by our Heirloom Warranty — essentially, profit-free repair as long as we exist as a business.

At the end of each year, we donate three percent of our unit-level profits to initiatives that restore the natural abundance of our country. This year, we are proud to support the American Chestnut Foundation, an organization dedicated to bringing back the great American Chestnut.

Our Approach

Grow Here and Make Here

America has an abundance of great hardwoods and furniture makers. We're committed to working exclusively with both.

Focused Selection

We'd rather focus our design and production efforts across less designs, so that we can maintain a small ready-to-ship inventory position as well as pass the simplicity savings to our customer.

Finish Naturally

We select higher grades of lumber that are beautiful enough to not require staining or heavy finishing. Where possible, we'll opt for zero-VOC, all natual finishes like raw Linseed Oil.

Long Term Product Support

Great furniture becomes heirloom furniture. We design with a 100 year product lifespan goal and we will support your Roseland with our Heirloom Warranty to the extent we are in business. With modern CNC machinery, we're able to machine one-off replacement parts in a way that is not cost-prohibitive.
