Frequently Asked Questions

For more answers, please get in touch!

Where are your products made?

Our pieces are made here in the US in Maine, Vermont, and Texas.

Do you use only American wood?

Yes. Everything is domestic.

How do I take care of the wood finish?

We finish our furniture as minimally as possible to show off the fine quality of the woods and minimize chemicals. We use either tung oil for our Kitchen Work Table, or pure, raw, linseed oil for the bed. The prep surface of the work table can and should be regularly oiled depending on frequency of use. You can use tung oil or any other food-grade butcher block oil.

How long does it take to "Dispatch" an order?

Unless otherwise stated, we'll usually dispatch an in-stock order within 3 days of order receipt. For all other orders, please click here to see our current lead times.

What is your returns policy?

We will fully refund any purchase within 30 days of your order's arrival at home. Your Roseland product needs to be in sellable, as-new condition.

We require customers to disassemble furniture and send back in either its original packaging or an adequately protective alternative (worst case, we can send a return packaging kit). We recommend customers open packaging carefully with this in mind. We will send you a shipping label when you initiate the return.

In cases of shipping damage, please contact our customer support.

Can you do custom orders?

We do not currently accept custom orders.

What discounts do you offer?

We offer our standard $75 discount for signing up for our newsletter, as well as a 7% discount on a bed bundle that includes the bed and two matching nightstands and a 10% bundle for both of our blankets. The bed bundle can be found here and the blanket bundle can be found here.

Do you offer discounts for large orders?

Yes, please reach out to our customer service and we'll respond within 24 hrs.

Where can I find assembly instructions?

You can find the assembly instructions in one of three locations: They are located inside your shipping packaging, you can find them in the FAQ of your product, or you can email us and we'll send you a PDF.

How long does assembly take?

All of our products can be assembled in under 30 minutes. See below for time estimates and required tools:

The Roseland Bed: 10–15 minutes. No tools required. A rubber mallet or hammer with a towel can help with tight connections. We recommend having a second person for assembly.

The Nightstand: 10–15 minutes. No tools required.

Kitchen Island: 20 minutes. Requires an Allen key (which we send). A second person is strongly recommended to help flip the table.

Westport Chair: 25 minutes. Requires an Allen key (which we send).

What is the height of the base of the mattress?

15.25" - The bed sits on slats, right around 1.5" below the top of the support rails.

What is the distance between the bottom of the headboard and the slats?

The distance is 10.5" -- this makes the bed work best visually with mattresses between 8.5" and 13" in height.

Is raw Linseed oil as protective as poly urethanes, or other contemporary solvents

The short answer is no. Linseed oil penetrates the wood and nourishes it, but it does not create a separate surface top coat. We choose raw linseed oil because of its natural beautiful finish and because of the health benefits of having zero VOCs or chemical additives.

How high would my mattress be on top of this bed?

Let's assume your mattress is 10" - a very typical height - your mattress would be around 25.25" high.

Do the casters lock?

Yes they do. There's a locking pin for each caster.

How often do I have to oil the butcher block surface?

This depends on your usage of the surface. In general, a good rule of thumb is to oil it monthly with a good mineral oil or equivalent food-grade oil.

Can I use the work table as my island?

Yes. We actually originally designed it with that intention.
